Transparency

We Guarantee Transparency

We strive to ensure stringent measures are in place, to meet the highest standards of transparency, as we believe internal control is the key to good governance. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the internal controls, the organisation has appointed Chartered Accountant firms of repute, as Branch Auditors. The Branch Auditors submit the audited reports of their respective branches to the management periodically. These reports are then reviewed by the Audit Committee.

The Audit Committee is a sub-committee of the Board of Trustees that was formed to ensure the effectiveness of the internal control environment. The Audit Committee of KISS is as follows:

We comply with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The IFRS reporting which was adopted in 2008-09 has contributed substantially in building confidence amongst the stakeholders of the organisation.

We also comply with the Indian Accounting Standards issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and are up to date on accounting standards. At the end of each financial year an Annual Report with financial audits and statements is published and made available to the stakeholders.

Guidestar India Profile

KISS foundation is verified by Guidestar India :
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has been awarded the Guidestar India Champion Level-Platinum Certification by Guide Star India for NGO Transparency (Financial Transparency).

As part of its commitment to maintain the highest level of transparency, KISS always publishes its account details, annual report and all other relevant information on its website, besides filing these documents regularly with authorities concerned.

It is matter of pride that KISS has achieved Platinum certification despite being an NGO of only 30 years. The award acquires added relevance as recently the Supreme Court of India had noted that only eight per cent to ten per cent about 31 lakh NGOs in India filed their accounts with the Registrar of Societies, detailing their receipt and expenditure. KISS got Platinum award along with only 14 other Indian NGOs.
